- Grade 7 field trip change - Due to possible fog tomorrow morning, we are pushing our departure time for tomorrow’s Grade 7 field trip to 8:00 am. Please have your child report to the Oak Grove bus lane area on the west side of the school at 7:45 am. Also please note that our new return time will now be around 9 pm. Please contact Mr. Fatica or Ms. Sanchez with any questions.
- Peach Blossom, Poetry & Prose: Tryouts for the Peach Blossom and Poetry & Prose competitions are this Thursday, December 5, at 2:30 pm in Room 403. This is open to students in Grades 4 – 8.
- Math 1 – The deadline to turn in all assignments for our Grade 8 students in Math 1 is Friday, December 13. Reminder that Math 1 grades will end for Semester 1 on Friday, December 20. Please contact Mrs. Heatherly with any questions.
- CJSF applications – Reminder that for Grade 7-8 students interested in applying for CJSF, the deadline is now Wednesday, December 11. Please contact Ms. Sanchez with any questions.

- Science Olympiad – Our Science Olympiad team is open to students in Grades 3 – 6 and will have their tryout test tomorrow, December 3, at 2:35 pm in Room 302. Please see the attached flier for more information.
- See’s Candies fundraiser – Our hardworking PTA has organized a See’s Candies fall fundraiser, now through December 6. Proceeds from PTA fundraisers like this help support student activities at Oak Grove, like field trips, our new “Oak Grove Owls” fence decorations, and our goal to expand our upper grade playground structure. - Minimum day – This Monday, December 9, is a 12:30 pm dismissal day for all students. Please plan ahead for this early pick up time.
- Winter Performance – Reminder that our all school Winter Performance is Thursday, December 19, at 5:30 pm at Oak Grove. More info to follow!

- Conference schedule – Reminder that we have 12:30 pm dismissal every day this week for all students. See the attached schedule for more information.
- School lost and found - Parents – please take a few minutes to look through our school lost and found, which is located by our school library. After this Friday, all remaining items will be donated to a local charity.
- Grade 6-8 Musical – Students in Grades 6 – 8 are invited to tryout for our school musical, Disney’s “Moana, Jr.” Tryouts will be Wednesday, December 18. See the attached schedule and tryout form for more information.
- PTA meeting – Our next PTA meeting is Tuesday, December 3, at 5:30 pm in Room 106. See you then!
- Career Showcase – All Grade 8 students will attend a VUSD Career Showcase at Mt. Whitney HS this Wednesday morning. Please contact your teacher with any questions.

- Fall Carnival – The Fall Carnival is almost here! It is this Friday, October 25, from 5 to 8 pm. If you completed a pre-sale order for our Fall Carnival tickets, they will be available for parent pickup this Tuesday and Wednesday, 7:45 to 8:10 am and 2:30 to 2:45 pm, by the Main Office. Please see the attached flier for more info about the Carnival.
- Carnival volunteers and candy donations needed – To help our PTA Fall Carnival run smoothly, we need your help! Please visit this website to sign up for specific activities and times that you can help: https://signup.com/go/gTEPMwX. There is also an Amazon Candy Donation wish list if you are able to contribute, or you can drop off items in the box in the Main Office. Please see the QR code on the attached flier.
- VUSD Facilities Planning: This fall, VUSD is hosting community workshops to present options to our community on how we move forward together. During the workshops, you will have the opportunity to dive into the work and help make impactful decisions for all VUSD students. The next session is this Tuesday, October 22, from 6 to 7:30 pm at Ridgeview Middle School. If you are not able to attend in person, check out the “Miss a Meeting?” video on the district website: https://engage.vusd.org/facilities-plan
- School picture re-takes – Pictures for students who missed our school pictures last month will be called to the cafeteria this Wednesday, October 23. If you purchased a picture packet and would like re-takes for your student, please communicate with your student’s teacher and send the picture packet along with your student to turn in to the photographer.
- Red Ribbon Week – Next Monday, October 28, is the start of Red Ribbon Week! Each day has a special theme and dress up day. Please see the flier that was sent home with your student today, which is also attached.
- HEART Remind app – Our after school program, HEART, uses the Remind app to share information directly with parents. To sign up, please text @ad6hf63 to the number 81010.

- Music, Art, and PE – We are fortunate to have great Art, Music, and PE teachers at Oak Grove again this year. If you have questions about their programs or your student’s class experience, you are welcome to contact these teachers directly – see the attached letter for more information.
- Fall Carnival tickets – Pre-sales for our Fall Carnival tickets are due tomorrow, October 9. Please see the attached flier for more info.
